Dad and I fashioned two hoists in this manner about 15 years ago from the
ceiling of his garage. A 2x8 was fastened to the bottom chord of the roof
trusses to carry the two hoists.  What we picked up though was a friend's
sailboat so he could paint the bottom with anti-fouling paint.  I'm sure the
boat weighed 5 times the amount of your Healey engine.
