constitutes the "center" on  square (i.e. float chambers) or rectangular

pans) items.  Would the center be the middle screw or bolt on each side?

I didn't say anything like that because I didn't want to sound like a smart
a**.

But if the leak is from the float bowl rim it could be an uneven sealing
surface and the junk paper gaskets don't seal well.  You need a rubber
gasket.
