<<Anyone know the correct tightening torque for the early A-type OD drain
plug (the one with hex flats) ? Mine is still leaking badly, even with a
new gasket. My instinct is to try to tighten it a little more, but I sure
would hate to ruin the threads in the housing>>
Are you sure you have the right drain plug? I just bought an A type OD unit
and it has the round brass type plug with about 6 or 8 slots for either
locking into with a special tool or to hit edges with a screw driver! I think
it has to be real tight either way.
