Vertical Link Question

I just finished rebuilding the front suspension and attached the vertical
link to the lower wishbone. My problem is that the ball joint does not align
properly with the upper wishbone. Is that possible? What did I do wrong or
did I do anything wrong? I recieved 2 lower wishbone shims with the kit. But
it's for each wishbone. Please help.
