Commer was a brand name of the Rootes Group (Hillman, Sunbeam, Singer etc)
they also made bigger trucks under the same brand name. When the group was
sold out to Chrysler in the seventies it was renamed the Dodge PB the last
ones produced were about the early eighties and used extensively by
government owned British Telecom at the time. Many were produced as
recreational vehicle campers using the 1500, 1600 and 1725cc cast iron
engines from the Hillman range. They were a pig to drive with their narrow
wheel base and 50's technology. In UK many survive as campers.
No connection with Triumph at all.
