More clamping force and swept area is nice for autocrossing where things
don't have a chance to get hot, but the heat advantages of a vented
rotor would be more beneficial. The 80-87 Toyota Landcruiser (FJ60)
uses the same pads as the 4wd mini-truck (79-87) but has vented rotors.
The caliper is the same as the later (8/85-7/88) mini-truck with
independent frt suspension whereas the Land Cruiser has a live axle
(like the early mini-truck). Maybe the bolt patterns are the same?
Just a bit more fuel for the fire....
A larger diameter brake M/C is usually installed along with brakes that
have more hydraulic area to return the pedal travel to "normal". If
you're using all the stroke when they're cold, you may find yourself
double-pumping to be able to stop under "hot" conditions.
