Hi Hans,

I have some small vinyl areas I'm interested in painting as well (the parcel
trays in my Spitfire to be specific -- the PO installed some nice metal ones
to replace the plastic, but covered them in a vinyl color that I don't care
for), but I think that painting heavily used surfaces like the seats may not
be your best option in terms of longevity and appearance. I could be wrong,
though.

You might want to consider taking the seats you have to a good local
upholsterer in your area and have them make the seats from scratch for you
in the color and material you want. A good, competent upholstery shop (get
recommendations!) should be able to provide exactly the look and feel you
want for the same or even less $$ than a recover kit might cost you.

Best wishes,
