I've used one for years and have never had a problem with the
authorities.  Of course, since the car was built before most of them were
born they are less likely to know what was originally allowed in the way
of safety equipment.  Last Thursday I drove about 40 miles in a drizzle
with just the aeroscreen for protection -- memorable, but not my favorite
way to travel.
