I just found another reason to be glad I own a Triumph instead of a
Miata. A friend of mine has a Miata. She was putting up the top and
the window broke in several places. This is an earlier Miata that has
uses plastic window - heavier than the Triumphs - instead of glass as
the more recent ones do. But the car is only about 5 years old.
Anyway, she did some checking. A new top installed is $2,400. Just
replacing the rear window (cutting the old one out and stitching a new
one in) is $400.
Makes the prices we pay for tops look great.
