TR6 Dash Brake Light is always on

Dear Listers:

Before my frame off, the brake light on the dash of my TR6 would go off and on 
while driving for no apparent reason.  Now that I have the car back 
together...I notice that it does the same thing.  What gives?  What is this 
light supposed to mean anyway...it can't be for the emergency brake can it?  
How do I fix this?
