Obligitory in the gutter remark: boy this list has gone downhill.

Anyway, I'd be careful about beating the ends of the crank. The worst case
is that you can crack the crankshaft. Or break it.

I haven't followed the whole thread (assuming there is a thread), but try
an impact wrench to get the BFN off. If that fails, you have to resort to
heroics.

A half-inch drive impact wrench can generate a lot of force on those pesky
nuts and bolts.
