Randall, Steve and Listers,

A quick comment regarding TR6 transmissions in older TRs and vice
versa. In '72 I believe, the TR6 (and others?) started using a Vee
shaped rear transmission mount, I also think that this was when they
changed to the type J O/D. In order to use one of the type J O/Ds in
an earlier car you have to use the later car's cross member. I am not
sure of the impact on the earlier TR6s but for my TR3 it doesn't work!
Conversely, if you are going from a type A O/D to the post '72 cars I
wouldn't think that it would be compatible either.

Any comments from someone that truly knows, rather than from me who is
partly guessing on the break points, etc.
