Incase any of you are thinking of installing a dash overlay kit don't make
the same mistake that I made. I took the dash pad out of the car, glued on
the overlay and tried to reinstall the dash pad with the overlay glued on.
It didn't fit so I removed the overlay and realized that the overlay was one
inch deeper than the dash pad. I trimmed the extra inch off, installed the
dash pad and then installed the overlay over top of the dash pad. In the
process of installing the overlay I realized that the extra inch would have
fit very nicely between the dash pad and the window seal to help hold the
overlay in place. I should have tired to install the dash overlay without
removing the dash. It will do until I find a good dash pad. I get the
feeling that I will know how to restore one of theses cars by the time I get
this car done.
