Depends on how far you are going and if you want the transmission to be any
good when you get there.  Trans lub is distributed by the laygears which
only turn when the engine is turning (and the clutch is engaged).  Towing
the car as you described will turn the mainshaft within the gears which are
stationary and no lubrication save that which remians from the last time
the car was driven.

Do yourself a favor, disconnect the drive shaft.
