Hello,
I am new to the news list but I am looking at purchasing a Triumph and
would like to get some advice on the value of two cars I have found.
The first is a 1975 TR7 coupe. It has been stored for at least the last
10 years in a garage. The current owner doesn't have much information
about it as it was part of a estate auction he purchased about a year
ago. The body is in decent shape with little or no rust. The interior is
pretty good albiet very musty. There is a huge diameter rope in the
trunk which speaks volumes. He wants $500.00 for the car. I heard the
rear ends in these early TR7's were pretty weak. Is there anything else
that I should know? Anybody have opinions on TR7's?
The other car is a TR4. This car is not associated with the owner of the
TR7 but is a very similar situation. The car is stored inside a garage.
It has the head removed and all the parts seem to be there. There is
very little rust on the car but will need some work and repainting. the
inside is very rough. I think the car probably was stored outside with
the top down for some time before it was brought inside. I don't know
what the year is as I haven't actually seen it yet. I am trying to track
down the owner now. Anybody have a idea what this might be worth??
I really want the TR4. The TR7 would be OK I guess but the TR4 is such a
great car to drive...
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appriciated.
