Joe,

Thanks.  How much was a new car to register, do you know?  What is the
tax rate and limit?

As for the heat.  First, make sure your radiator is flushed out and has
new coolant.  Second, make sure you have changed out the thermostat since
is was new in 72.  I went with a summer one from TRF and the car has
never overheated!  Third (and worst) make sure that the transmission
tunnel cover gaskets are not old and rotted.  Also, that the tunnel is
secured by all the screws ALL the way around.  Fourth, do you have the
underfelt under the carpet?  Even driving in Florida 98 degree summer,
the car does not overheat and I have only a little warmth on the
passenger side tunnel near the center support leg (Got me as to why it is
only on the passenger side)
