don't be too surprized to see Lucas products in Mercedes cars - according to
an article I
just read in Summer 2000 issue of 'Design Management Journal' Lucas (now
called LucasVarity) is in the 'top of their class' regarding 'innovation
management'... but then - we already knew that didn't we!

Without admitting guilt, I recently went looking at/driving the latest
"sporty car interpretations" being offered by Honda, Toyota, BMW and
Mercedes. I was shocked when I looked under the hood of the 230SLK and found
the brake booster labeled "LUCAS". The car stopped well still.
The car was wonderful and my wife wants one. However, for that price I
can buy a restored TR4, AH300BJ8, Morris Minor Traveler and maybe even a
MGTF to complete the stable and still have spare change to entertain myself.
