>But "Whoa is Me". I took the Six out for a test
drive before extracting and I have no first or second synchros. It
upshifts
fine, OD works great but refuses to be down shifted into 1st or 2nd. I can
only get a couple of downshifts in until it warms up and then nothing but
grunts and grinds. The gearbox was rebuilt by a friend of mine with new
synchros and he is totally clueless.<

Welcome bok, mon. Hope you didn't get too sunburnt while we slugged it out
here in the snow (you B*****). (Just kidding)

First thing to check is the clutch. Does it fuly disengage? If the clutch
does fully disengage then when you pull it out check the end float in the
gear clusters against the book. If there is too much or too little then
the spacers are wrong and the box needs to be disassembled and redone. (I
know, a PITA)

But check the clutch before you pull the box.
