"Stick" welders, rather than MIG welders, are the power source for what
you're talking about. Eastwoods sells both the welding equipment itself
(which I understand is tricky to use) and the attachment that can be used
for spot welding (which I've been told does a decent job). The last time I
looked, J.C. Whitney also sold such equipment.
