Yes the pinion seal has started to leak. Not so much the leak that bothers
me, it's just a small one, but it drips on the exhaust! So questions..
Can I do this in the car? Or must I pull the entire diff? Anyone done this?
Tips, suggestions, please.
I will replace with a leather seal. Have jackstands. Will remove exhaust
system, separate drive shaft. Lock wheels with emergency brake and after
pulling cotter pin, loosen nut - hopefully. Been told to mark the nut to get
it back to same place for pre-load reasons. Pull off flange, then pull seal
- friend says has tool to yank it out. Assembly is reverse.
Oh yeah drain and refill fluid.
Am I missing something? Is this doable?
Thanks..
