It does.

If in perfect condition, prices seem to be around GBP3500.   I picked up
my '77 Spit for GBP1200, complete with various minor (and not-so-minor)
problems.

In addition to the things you would look for anyway, beware of rust on
the windscreen pillars (the windscreen surround is *not* a bolt-on item
on 1500s), a tendency for the whole car to lean over towards the
driver's side, and missing accessories (e.g. this should have a map-
light in the glove compartment).   Universal Joints are also famously
problematic on Spits, so listen for that ticking noise when test-
driving.
