A late comment on this subject... in addition to a chemical extinguisher, in all
my cars I carry a fire blanket. I salvaged a few of these when my wife's lab
was
remodeled and keep one in the boot. Have never had to use one in anger but the
option of throwing a fire-resistant blanket over a flaming engine would seem to
be a good thing.
Anyone had any experience with these?
