  Bill, you may first want to try cleaning off the vent on top of the
diff and see if the leak stops. Located on the top rear passengers side
of the unit. There's a small pin protruding out of the vent. Actually,
it's a cotter pin, but was probably called something like "sludge
build-up eradicator" at the time of assembly..... Usually this is
covered with muck. Clean it up until you can wiggle the pin around and
the diff will be able to breathe again after the oil heats up, and not
be forced out the seal. It's certainly worth a try before going into
pinion seal replacement mode.........This has worked on my TR6 and a
Spitfire. The garage floor stayed much cleaner, and the exhaust smell
was much sweeter...............
