>It appears my '71 TR6 has developed a leak in the brake warning valve
sensor. My question is, what is the best practice for fixing this
engineering marvel? I thought I had seen some recommendations other than
replacing the seal.

If it is leaking out of the switch (nost likely) then one or the other (or
both) O-rings are leaking. Replacing these is fairly straight forward.
Remove the big plug at the one end, shake out the shuttle, replace the
O-rings and re-assemble.

Best done out of the car.

Get O-rings that will tolerate brake fluid.

Cheers
