However, don't be too surprised if your query comes back "not found".  There
is a limit on how long they keep records of a car, once it is no longer
being registered in California.  Also, according to the form, you must be
the current registered owner in their database.  You can try including a
copy of the title/registration, showing you are the current legal owner of
the car, but I don't know if they will honor that or not.  Probably depends
on the whim of the clerk who opens your application.  Throwing in a small
Guilder bill as a good will present might help <g>
