Forgive my ignorance of TR3 details, but I might be
able to help in the near future. I have received several
requests fromHerald owners to reproduce the brass body
plate mounted on the front bulkhead of that model. This
measures 3.5 x 0.75 inches and has rounded ends. It is
fixed by 2 small self tapping screws at slightly less
than 3 inch centres (74mm in metric). The number is
stamped in 3/8" size characters. If this fits what you
need, then it will be available from myself later this
year. Sorry I don't have a price yet,

The 3.5 x 0.75 inch brass plate Bill will be making
should work for the TR3's if the numbers are stamped in
reverse and appear 'raised'. Note however that multiple
size plates were used, probably 'ad hoc', and anything
goes unless someone has run across documentation on a
change point. I have 2 1957 TR3's, 792 commission
numbers apart (EB numbers 752 apart), with different
size body number plates. The trimmed body number "EB"
plate on the earlier car matches Bill's dimensions,
while the plate on the later car is only 2 5/8 x 3/4
inches with the mounting screws centered 2 1/8 inches
apart. The 'un-trimmed' body number plate is missing
from my early car (another victim of a DPO's battery box
replacement), but the plate on the later car is wider,
measuring 3 1/2 x 7/8 inches with holes 2 7/8 inches o.c.
Bill, how soon can we expect your high quality raised
ink commission number plates for the TR3's? I'll take 2
of the early type when available!
