Parts Washing

I'm looking at buying a new parts washer now that I have added a couple 
of project vehicles. I have always used stoddard solvent in the past, 
and have never tried any of the bio-degradable water based solvents. Are 
they any good? Is rusting a problem? Are there any brands that are 
better than others?
