Hi guys,
first car 1959 Pontiac convertible Catalina, had a 389 engine. Worked all
summer in a submarine shop in Rochester, NY. Bought the car in 1966 for $100
first week or so, I was driving on the freeway had my learners permit with
about 6 or 7 people in the ca, top down, radio blasting, get pulled over by a
motorcycle cop. Got seven tickets, my senior driver was in the back seat
wearing my prescription glasses, that was 2 tickets, speeding and a bunch of
other ones I can't remember, cost me $50 a ticket, I was poor for a while.
Another thing we were at my friend's house there's a wedding hall nearby, the
wedding was over and there are bunch of beer kegs sitting behind the building
so we conveniently grabbed 2 put them in the trunk of my car told everybody
we were going to have a beer blast at the park the next weekend but my father
asked me why the car was sitting lopsided in the driveway, he opened the
trunk found the beer that was the end of our party. One day, I was going to
pick up my friend who lived on the next street, if you looked out of his
kitchen window and I looked out of my living room window we could wave to
each other, anyway, pulled up in front of his house and my car was smoking
under the hood, lifted up that huge hood and now we had a raging fire. People
came running out of the house grabbing garden hoses yelling call the fire
dept. after the fire was out brought the car home sat in the back yard for a
few months and one day came home the car was gone, my father had gotten rid
of it. Leave it to Dad. Many more stories but that's enough for now. That was
my summer of fun! Bye for now.
