Jack, in Europe you can find several EFI systems for TR6, but they
are rather expensive and as far as I see most of you people tend to
keep expenses on the low side.
Revingtontr is selling kits for all TRs, the kits are based on
Lumenition or Webcon Alpha parts with TWM inlet manifold. You
can order both of them dizzy or crank triggert.
The parts included are in general used for racing or rally cars and
are now compiled and modified to fit TRs.
My TR6 is equipped with a Lumenition kit since 1997, a picture of
the setup is shown on the TRRegistry website look under TR6
commission # CP50265LP / Price around 4k GBP incl 4hrs Dyno
uprated alternator and electronic rev counter in original housing.
In addition U.S. cars will require fuel return pipe to tank, probably
new tank with swirl pot and high pressure fuel pump with filter
In Germany a firm called TRIJEKT has also converted a TR6 to EFI
I have the impression that it's more simple, but I have no price
information.
My experience with EFI is very positive, I must say you can almost
drive on salad oil as the ECU is fitted with EPROM and with the
necessary software and a laptop you can alter the ignition / fuel
flow and other parameters as desired.
For best performance of cause a rolling road / dyno session is
advised. The TWM manifold is the same as used for 45DCOE
Webers, rather expensive.
