JOE the early TR4's had the short bulge. I believe when they went to the 
Stromberg carbs the hood was changed to the long bulge. You might want to join 
the TRA they now include the TR4s and also publish a judging / restoration 
manual which is very detail  also videos which you can barrow. The videos are 
on rebuilding varies parts and do it yourself projects.          HAROLD
