       Of course they are... to those who desire them.  The Spitfire could have 
happened
       anyway but in a different form without the swing-axles or other pieces
       derived from the Herald.  It was easy to derive the Spit from an
       existing platform, so if the Herald was never built but some other
       completely different small sedan was built in it's place, the Spitfire
       may have sprung from that car's loins.

  Like the Standard 8 !!!
