I've run into the same problem Thats why I always look for the oldest guy
around and tell him what I'm doing BEFORE he touches the keyboard. I had a
friend working till late at night to do a brake job that HAD to be done by
early
A.M. He called Auto Zone, they assured him they had the brake pads, and he sent
a friend to pick them up 5 minutes from closing The clerk couldn't/wouldn't
male the sale because the kid that was sent to pick up the pads didnt know if
the car had a/c or not and apparently the clerk couldnt get to the next screen
without this "vital" piece of info. Needless to say, the brakes didnt get done.
Neither the kid, nor the clerk could comprehend that a/c or no a/c made no
difference on the part #. Kinda scary if you think about it.
