Broke down my TR3 project car's engine this afternoon. I had heard that the
liners were supposed to project above the lip of the block a tiny bit, and
should have figure eight gaskets.
I would have guessed this engine had not been broken down before, although the
head may have been done at some point. Anyway, all I found was a thick
copper(?) gasket, nothing resembling a figure 8, and the liners were
completely flush with the block. Is this right?
