Congrats on you new arrival.  The temp you quote (at speed) seems a bit
high but not necessarily a big problem... however the quest for cool in
a TR3 in AZ will be an interesting journey.  In my case I go with...

Original TR3A fan replaced with a TR4 fan.
Addition of an electric pusher fan, manually switched (for long traffic
light stops or slow traffic).
Air dam to throw air at the lower third of the radiator.
Blocked bypass hose (some say good idea, some say bad).
Water Wetter.
Be sure cardboard radiator ductwork is in place.

That seems to be enough to keep the car cool in 100+ temps though the
driver may overheat.

In the past I have used an overflow bottle to catch coolant -- it lets
you fill the neck a bit more but the TR3 cap doesn't draw the coolant
back in so all this does is catch it for you if it pukes.  Some may have
modified the cap to seal and draw coolant back -- I haven't tried that.

Interesting that your TR3A has a celsius temp gauge -- perhaps it was
originally shipped to the continent, or is it actually a (electric) TR4
gauge?
