Really hate to throw cold water on this adventure but you had better ask the
current owner how many miles he has driven the car for this season.  If he
stutters and stammers "not much", then you had better take a trailer.  You
don't want this marriage to the car start with a bunch of breakdowns and
disappointments.  On the other hand if the answer is anything over 500 miles
then go for it and enjoy the ride.

Better yet, ask him if, for an extra $100, he would drive it half way to you
and meet him at a rest stop on the Interstate.  If he stutters and stammers
then definitely take a trailer.
