Usually unnecessary as they can be cleaned up rather easily.  Don't break
the stud of removing the unts.  Remove the two plungers and clean off any
rust.  Wire brush the crud off of the exposed threads on the adjuster screw
and then back it out the front.  Now you can clean the whole thing.  Clean
away the corrosion on the adjuster body, smere lithium grease on the
adjuster screw and plungers and reassemble.  It is as good as new. 
Adjusting the brakes with a free moving adjuster is a pleasure.  You will
be adjusting your brakes on a weekly basis.
