TR3 Dash Knob Removal

Ok Folks - Refurbishing the instrument panel, I'm removing the 
switches.  Built a tool to turn the screw plates, but now having a tough 
time getting the Bakelite knobs off the shafts.
I found the little spring loaded pin and have them moving pretty 
freely.  Have soaked the shafts lightly with Kroil for a couple of days but 
no movement is apparent.  I'm trying to be gentle with these.  Any clues?
