My mistake. I never considered or discussed regrinding or welding an old 
camshaft.  I'm not a fan of trying to reuse or repair an old camshaft 
when you buy a new one for a six cylinder TR for approx $300.00, 
manufactured with better materials & technology. To me this would be 
like reconditioning 30 year old pistons or oil pumps. Things that get 
buried deep in the engine get a priority for quality, longevity & 
durability. My first reground Isky camshaft failed after approx 1,000 
miles. I try not to make the same mistake twice, although more often 
than not it's unavoidable :-)
