This car was listed in our local VTR newsletter. I looked but soon
remembered I don't do project cars -- if you do, this might be worth a
look. I've included the ad followed by my impressions. Sorry, I didn't
take my camera. I talked with the owner's son and I'm waiting for the
owner to follow up with direct contact info. If you're interested drop

The RMTC ad:
"'64 TR4, unfinished project, car is almost rebuilt from the chassis up.
Red with black interior. Needs paint and interior reinstalled. Engine
runs well. Extra 1963 parts. $4500 firm. Located in Centennial" (that's
in Colorado USA)
My impressions:
First, I'm told he'll take $3000. The owner is a recent widower and is
moving, downsizing. The work was more of an overhaul, so consider it a
complete project car. The frame and body are in decent shape. The floors
and battery shelf appear to have had surface rust treated then covered
with a light fiberglass sheet, but they don't look bad from underneath.
The engine compartment was resprayed red but brake fluid has spilled on
the master cylinder shelf so that'll need to be redone. The panels seem
to be well prepared and most panels and the body is in primer. They look
good *except* for a football sized bondo patch on the left rear wing
behind the B post. I think the driver's side A and B posts were
replacements. The rear deck looks good. The gas tank has been done over,
or at least has fresh paint. The black interior doesn't need to be
reinstalled -- it will need to be replaced, except maybe the door panels
could be reused if you're not picky. The top is toast. The guy said all
the gauges are in the garage somewhere, and apparently the commission
plate is in a box somewhere too. Old wire wheels on the car.
The engine turned and fired but failed to stay running. The owner's son
said his dad has had it running and has "driven" around the
neighborhood. I had my 7 year old with me and Ben said he didn't want
the car either :) so we didn't spend a real long time looking it over.
Spare parts: not much, a set of wheels in the shed, a rear deck, maybe
spare gauges, early TR4 seats, maybe a front valance. I think there was
a set of Z-S carbs on the shelf.
