Such a good idea, in fact, that it is required by the instructions which
come with the pump.
I had a Facet on my Midget for years. I have had one on the Lotus for
years, after I found that the pump and regulator which came to me with the
car were not as good. I thought I spun the Lotus and killed the engine at
an autocross, but I discovered that the regulator cut the flow so much that
I had in fact spun because the engine had died! Threw pump and regulator
in the garbage, installed Facet and never had the problem again.
Another autocrosser hereabouts had a Facet outlast one MGB and he used it
again on another. Only time he put a wrench to it was to move it to the
next car.
