And which don't tolerate dirt, or congealed gasket cement which you aren't
supposed to use on the gauge sender access panel gasket but some of us
aren't very bright and use anyway and then it becomes a plug and goes
through the gas line and clogs everything up, very well.

It might be a good idea to put a filter before the pump.
