Should work, at least temporarily.  But the solenoid draws rather more current
than a run-of-the-mill doorbell, so don't be surprised if the contacts don't
last long.  NAPA or an electronics store might have a "push to start" button
that would last longer and might even fit in the stock hole.  I saw one in
Torrance Electronics the other day.

You can buy just the bulb.  Moss P/N 546-025.  TRF has it too, but I don't have
the P/N handy.
