Amazes me people are still doing that ... there was a wonderful test a decade or
so ago where they assembled a bunch of audio experts that claimed tubes sounded
better. Indeed, some of the experts could reliably identify the tube amplified
sounds as "better" than solid state amplifiers ...
Until the researchers hit on the idea of analyzing the tube amplifiers
performance and adding similar amounts of hum and distortion to the solid state
amps. Then the experts couldn't tell the difference !
