Greetings, everyone,

I've been operating my TR4 with a spare 4-speed while my original OD gearbox was
sidelined.

I've decided to have a go at it myself, I think I know what the problem is, and
with my factory manual beside me, I began disassembly.

There is a small gap, however, in the manual's disassembly procedure, and that's
separating the OD from the gearbox. They do have the assembly procedure which
requires some depression of plungers inside the OD as you slide it onto the
output shaft of the gearbox.

Is there a special procedure for splitting the two? Mine separated about 10mm or
so before it stopped.

Fiddled with it a bit and found it wouldn't go back either.

Apply more force or is there a trick?

TIA,

-jeffrey
