All I can offer is that I plan to try fitting seats from a Mazda Miata
(MX5), the earlier ones with the speakers in the headrest. Don't know yet
how well they will fit, but several people have written that they fit in
Spitfires, so should be OK in a TR3.

Since the high backs will also transmit more force to the floor, I plan to
reinforce the floor as well.
