"ABS uses either DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid; you should use the fluid recommended by
the manufacturer. Silicone (DOT 5) fluid should not be used. Air does not move
easily through silicone fluid, and when you shock the fluid, any air bubbles
tend to become smaller bubbles. During an ABS stop, the rapid action of the
solenoid valves shocks the fluid."
