Yes, when removing the lower suspension arms I notice a fair bit of play between
those two, you can wiggle the link
indpendantly of the trunnion.

RF was no problem, gentle taps were all that was required, LF is a different 
story.
I couldn't tap them off but I
managed to get the front one off by putting vice grips around the lock/thrust 
washer
and wiggling them loose.  The rear
just won't budge, however now that the front's off the rear arm can slide off 
the
inner bracket.

I'll have to spin the trunnion off the link and try the washers on the bench.
