Paul,

How long ago did you get the tires?

Sounds like you have to put more time into this restoration. Forget all your
other obligations, the TR3 comes first!

I am about to wrap up my TR4 restoration and so far I am into my 28th month.

The cover flanges should be above the floor pans and have welded nuts on the
reverse. 1/4 28. I am guessing the flanges are about 2/3 to 3/4 of an inch
high. The cover then "sits" on this mount and is bolted in. Use a gasket of
some sort. TRF supplies a 1/4 " rubber seal that is glued on before adding
the cover. TRF also has a hardware kit for the TR4 that should work ok on the
3. The only difference is the 3 has a steel cover and the 4 either the
original cardboard or after-market plastic.
