Back in 2004 Burt Rutan won the $10M X Prize for SpaceShipOne which was
fascinating to watch on Discovery. Now they're doing an X Prize for cars.
"At the 2007 New York Auto Show, the organizers of the X Prize foundation
announced a new $10 million prize for creating a car that gets 100 mpg; can
be mass produced; and could be sold for a reasonable price. This declaration
was one of the least noticed stories to emerge from the show, but it could
have the biggest impact."
