I've just spent about an hour following several different threads in the
archives on the subject of clutch squeal in a TR6, and it seems that none
exactly describes the situation that developed today when I had my 1976 TR6
out for a drive on a beautiful spring day in the Chicago area. The clutch
began squealing.at least I think it's the clutch. The noise happens only
when the car is in gear and the clutch pedal is NOT depressed. Most of the
earlier threads talked about the noise starting with the first touch on the
pedal. The noise in my car occurs after the pedal is fully released. The
noise is greatly diminished when NOT accelerating and disappears when the
clutch pedal is depressed. Is this the infamous TOB problem? If so, there
seems to be a conflict among listers in the archived threads as to whether
this would be a serious problem requiring immediate attention or something
that can be ignored for awhile if I can stand the noise. Any and all
thoughts are welcome.

Thanks.
